Liz Steeves sent me this photograph of her great-grandmother at Christmas time. It was taken before 1936 at the MacCallum's house in Wollaston, Massachusetts.
Carrie Holmes Steeves is seated on the right. (Carrie, or Caroline, is a daughter of Daniel and Charlotte Holmes.) Shirley MacCallum Huke, her granddaughter, is sitting on the floor. The couple on the couch are Carrie's daughter Edith Steeves MacCallum and her husband, Peter MacCallum. We wonder who the young man is beside Carrie. There is a picture on the wall to the left of the Christmas tree. Here is the photograph.
Alfred Steeves, Carrie's husband, died in 1918 at the age of about 65. So this photo was taken sometime before 1918. We believe the young man is their son, Walter.
